BORN TO PERFORM

ULTIMATE POWER, MORE TORQUE
We’ve maintained the stunning top-end hit of the CRF250RX’s DOHC engine, but boosted torque off the bottom to improve jump and acceleration out of corners.
THE PERFECT START
3-Level HRC Launch Control gives you options for a strong start out of the gate, whether you’re amateur or pro, and whatever the riding conditions.

Lightweight class

The CRF250RX is the off-road tool you’ve always wanted. It’s a high-performance trail/enduro machine, based on the CRF250R, and built to exploit all the advantages a lightweight 250 offers: manoeuvrability and nimble agility.

MAKE FAST, EASY

After all, why make it difficult?
With the same aluminium beam frame and engine as the CRF250R, the CRF250RX is already special. But it also has Showa suspension re-set for use away from the MX track, an 18-inch rear wheel, a larger fuel tank and a sidestand. So, when the going gets really tough–or tight and technical–and where bigger bikes become difficult and simply wear you out, the CRF250RX shines. Its power delivery keeps you moving forward, while the chassis finds the grip–and lets you use it. It makes fast, easy.

MOTOCROSS OR ENDURO

Choose your weapon
CRF250R
Honda’s CRF250R has shown itself a worthy weapon for battle in the hard-fought MX2 class. And it is a machine that has evolved into a base platform that the amateur MX enthusiast–as well as pro-racer–can get the most out of. More bottom-end power, with the same incredible top-end power, plus chassis updates, keep it ahead of the pack.
CRF250RX
The brand new CRF250RX mirrors the CRF450RX, and takes the CRF250R as a base. Fast, agile and easy to ride, it’s a potent machine, with modifications that tailor it perfectly for its new cross-country/trail role and it’s equally at home slithering up a root-strewn climb, or slicing precious seconds off a racing special test.

CRF250RX SYSTEMS CHECK

Have a look at the advanced features of this high-performance motorcycle.
HRC Launch Control
Developed with direct input from HRC’s racers, the CRF250RX’s 3-Level Launch Control gives options to make the best start possible, whether a pro-level rider or beginner, and whatever the riding conditions are.
Larger fuel tank
The CRF250RX uses the same 8.5L fuel tank as the CRF450RX, extending riding range. The radiator shrouds are specific to the CRF250RX and smooth external lines allow easy movement around the machine.
Adjustable Renthal Fatbar
A Renthal Fatbar reduces rider fatigue and improves control. Its position can be adjusted four different ways, to tailor the riding position, and comes complete with a Renthal bar pad.
Showa suspension and DID wheels
The 49mm Showa front fork is fully adjustable for spring preload and rebound/compression damping. The Showa rear shock is also fully adjustable and operates through Pro-Link. 21-inch front and 18-inch rear DID wheels are finished in black and mount Dunlop Geomax AT81 Enduro tyres.
New brake calliper
A new front brake calliper works on a 260mm wave-pattern disc. It uses 30mm and 27mm pistons; this allows for a lighter body and, along with low-expansion brake hose, improves brake feel and stopping power.

POWER STATION

Stunning peak performance, with extra torque off the bottom.
The CRF250RX shares the DOHC 4-valve engine of its MX2 sibling–with the same hard-hitting peak power–but has revised fuelling and ignition mapping to soften the delivery for more general off-road use. Stronger torque through lower rpm range has been achieved with a 44mm diameter throttle body, to speed up airflow; the inlet and exhaust ports have been re-shaped and the exhaust valve cam ‘closing’ profile also reduced by 2°. The right-hand exhaust downpipe is also 50mm shorter. Honda engines are famed for their durability –and a new 5-hole piston jet ensures optimum piston cooling.
HRC Launch Control
Developed with direct input from Honda’s professional racers, HRC Launch Control has 3 operating levels and gives the CRF250RX an advantage right from the start. Level 1 operates at 8,000rpm and is suitable for muddy conditions–or for more inexperienced riders. Level 2 is the basic setting for dry conditions and runs at 8,500rpm. Level 3 launches at 9,500rpm and is designed for expert riders.

Engine Mode Select Button (EMSB)
You can cover a lot of ground on the CRF250RX, so it helps to be able to tailor the engine’s character to suit what you’re riding over. And the Engine Mode Select Button’s 3 Modes do just that; Mode 1 serves up a balanced power and torque delivery, suitable for the majority of conditions. Mode 2 smooths out power and torque, for improved rear wheel traction on slippery or muddy ground, while Mode 3 punches aggressively, for dealing with deep sand.

PUSH TO THE LIMIT

It’s what this chassis is built for.
21-inch front and 18-inch rear DID wheels are finished in black and mount Dunlop Geomax AT81 Enduro tyres.
Designed around the principle of ‘mass centralisation’, the CRF250RX’s seventh-generation aluminium tapered twin-spar frame locates everything as close as possible to the machine’s low centre of gravity to elevate rear wheel traction. Fully adjustable Showa suspension is the perfect match; an 18-inch rear wheel opens up tyre choice and a forged aluminium sidestand tucks neatly out of the way. The redesigned front brake calliper uses different sized pistons–it’s lighter and more powerful–while a new fork protector neatly reduces the chance of picking up stone damage.
Renthal control
The Renthal Fatbar reduces the weight of the steering system and flexes slightly for comfort; the top yoke features two handlebar-holder locations for moving the handlebar rearward and forward by 26mm. When the holder is turned 180 degrees, the handlebar can be moved an additional 10mm from the base position, resulting in four unique riding positions.
